First joint training for teachers from Albania and Kosovo on the rights of children

Today, the Ambassador of Slovenia in Tirana Mr. Peter Japelj addressed the participants of "Our Rights" workshop, the joint Slovenian - Albanian - Kosovar training of trainers on children's rights, which was organised in Durres (Albania). 

The event was initiated and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana, and co-organised by Instituti per Promovimin e Edukimit - IPEDU and CRCA / ECPAT Albania. ˝

The subject the teachers from Albania and Kosovo will work together is an important issue for the future of both countries,˝ Ambassador Japelj emphasised.

Ambassador Japelj also added, ˝The challenge is to prepare the children for their future life in the best possible way. And knowledge of their rights is a good basis to be aware of their rights also as adults. I am certain that we all hope and expect that this project will help involved children to become responsible persons, supporting dialogue, cooperation and inclusion.˝

The initiator of the project "Our Rights", Slovenian Ambassador Blanka Jamnišek and the internationally renowned expert, Dr. Anica Mikuš Kos, joined the workshop virtually from Slovenia.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Embassy of Kosovo in Tirana and the representative of UNDP in Albania.

The participants of the seminar were representatives of Albanian and Kosovar governmental institutions.

The aim of the training is to train the teachers who will further help other teachers to educate children on their rights.

The specialized and innovative material used in the educational process was prepared by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
